Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger is a smash hit. After breaking Hrithik Roshan and Agneepath's record of biggest opening day collection - Rs 32 crores vs Rs 22 crores - Ek Tha Tiger has also set the record for the fastest Rs 100 crores, earning this benchmark amount in just five days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweets: #EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Sun 23.06 cr. Total: 100.16 cr nett. SUPERB. Fastest 100 cr grosser ever - 5 days [Hindi films]. NEW RECORD!

Earlier yesterday, Salman Khan's sister Arpita confirmed that Ek Tha Tiger had crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark: "Total 100.16 C in 5 days.. And the TIGER ROARS! Tiger Tiger Tiger."

This is Salman's fourth film in a row to make a century and over. Taran Adarsh confirmed numbers on Twitter: #EkThaTiger is @BeingSalmanKhan 's 4th century [100 cr], the other three being #Dabangg [147 cr], #Ready [122 cr] and #Bodyguard [148 cr].

Mr Adarsh says there's yet another record that the film has set: "#EkThaTiger is Yash Raj's *first* film to cross 100 cr mark."

Salman Khan traditionally releases his films on or around Eid, a strategy that has always paid off.

Dabangg became the highest opening week grosser of the time, the top earner of 2010 and the third highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time.

Bodyguard held the record for biggest opening day collection till it was beaten by Agneepath. It also broke Dabangg's record of biggest opening week earnings. Ready placed second in opening day collection when it released and became the second highest weekend grosser, after Dabangg.

Ek Tha Tiger now looks set to break all those records and make a few of its own. Insiders predict the film will make Rs 200 crores within India.

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, told IANS: "Salman's movie Ek Tha Tiger is doing very well all over. It has been the highest opening ever. In first two days, the film has collected around Rs.47 crores all over India. On the opening day, the film collected Rs.33 crores. It is the highest collection till date for any Indian film."

Salman Khan now leads the elite club of actors, notable Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgn, who have starred in films that fetched over Rs 100 crores.
